The Ruby Temple.
( a Chinese story ) by Laurun elaun cruz.
Once upon a time there was a poor farmer named Hoelis and he had wife who was getting ready
to have a baby. His wife was very ill, Hoelis could not stand to see his wife like this. Hoelis could not afford medicine so he set out to look for some. Hoelis only left for two hour’s but Hoelis
knew he was running out of time. Hoelis started to go home with out medicine when suddenly fell through the ground! The first thing that Hoelis was thinking was how was he going to get out of the hole? That was when Hoelis realized there was a tunnel he decided to follow it. Hoelis walked a long time before he saw light. The place he had wondered in to was beautiful! The garden had all the finest plants! And there it was a temple made out ruby’s! It was the most beautiful temple Hoelis had ever seen. Hoelis couldn't stand to not go in the temple. As Hoelis touched the ruby doors his cuts from farming on his hands slowly healed. Amazed by what just happend Hoelis Quickly chipped one of the ruby’s off the door and stuffed the ruby in his pouch and ran. Hoelis hoped the ruby would not only heal cuts and bruises but Hoelis’s wife’s illness too. Just as Hoelis got home he found his wife barley living quickly Hoelis crushed the ruby in his wife’s food. As she ate Hoelis saw a healthy glow in his wife’s face, she said that she felt better than ever. At that very moment Hoelis’s wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Years passed before Hoelis baby boy turned into a young boy named Logan. Logan was just going to turn 9 yrs. old. When Hoelis was working in the field's a strange old lady walked up to their little cottage and claimed that some one who lived here stole something very valuable from her home years ago. When Hoelis saw the old lady yelling Hoelis ran towards them. When Hoelis got there his wife explained everything the old lady had said. It made no sense to Hoelis’s wife. Hoelis explained that he had taken a ruby from the old lady's home 9 yrs. ago to heal his wife’s sickness. Hoelis begged the old lady to let him give her something in return.The old lady said the only thing that would make her leave was Hoelis's son Logan, Hoelis said yes in agreement. The old lady took Hoelis’s only pride and joy in his life and left. Hoelis sweared he would get his son back. It was years before Hoelis gave up looking for his son. Hoelis could not find the path he had taken before, Hoelis had given up. Logan did not give up even after five years had passed, about 5 yrs. later Logan turned 20 yrs. old. Logan was strong enough to escape.One day the old lady was outside picking herbs, Logan finally got the courage to run out the door.When the witch realised what happen when she got back the old lady cursed her self for leaving. When Logan was running he could of sworn he herd the old lady scream. When Logan saw the little cottage he use to live in Logan ran faster. When and ran Logan got to his little cottage and opened the door Logan saw his beloved parents. After all the hugging Logan made his father Hoelis, promise to never take something with out asking Hoelis had tears of joy in his eyes and he said yes yes what ever you say son! From that day and on Hoelis never took something with out asking
and they lived happily ever after!
